Documentary Sector of 4th Beijing International Film Festival

Founded in 2011 and co-hosted by SARFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the PRC) and Beijing Municipal Government, the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) is one of the A-level film festivals in the world.
In order to promote the documentary industry, BJIFF establishes the Documentary Sector in 2014 and authorizes Beijing International Documentary Center (BIDC) to organize the sector. The sector consists of review, screening, forums, pitch and market.
The review and screening based on hundreds of works submitted by international organizations and companies, including Documentary Committee of China Radio Artists Association, Documentary Committee ofChina Television Artists Association, Docuchina, Screen Australia, PACT of UK, and independent producers.After two rounds of primary review and one round of final review under an international jury, the result will be presented as a shortlist of 30 Final Works, 5-8 Jury Recommended works and 1-2Jury Highly Recommended Work. Outstanding works will be screened inmovie theatres, special showcases, on television andnew media platforms.
Documentary forumwillinvitesartists, scholars, managers and policy makers to discuss topics on “the Industrialization of Documentary Making”.
Documentary pitch and market will be held in Documentary United Booth and Zone within the Film Market.
